How many FLOPS are in game consoles?
Analyst Opinion - Floating Point Operations Per Second - FLOPS - one of the more obscure processor performance indicators, and one of the oldest ones. Over time, it has been modified with prefixes such as M (mega), G (giga), T (tera) and will soon get a P (peta). “Tera” describes a million millions - one trillion (1012) - which is a whole lot of anything whether it is cycles (Hertz), bytes, dollars, or FLOPS.
Recently I was asked how many TFLOPS are in all the game consoles shipped to date. There are two answers to that question. You can look at it from the perspective of all the game consoles built and you can look at this question with specific consoles in mind.
Let’s look at the combined TFLOPS rating of all game consoles, which actually provides two answers as well.
If you count central processor FLOPS then you have one answer and if you count the FLOPS potential of the GPU and add it to the CPU’s FLOPS, then you have the second answer. This second version is controversial since the FLOPS of the GPU aren’t used in computations and some therefore claim that the GPU should not be counted as it simply represents a theoretical number. Others argue that GPUs are used in computation - the computation of shader operations. Both sides, however, agree that there isn’t yet a benchmark that can measure this discipline. And therefore I conclude that we shouldn’t use them in evaluating the CPU FLOPS of game consoles.

Convert Youtube or Google videos to PSP on Mac for free
lovewenc who is new to PSP-HQ has posted this in our forums to show you how to download video content from numerous sites( youtube, Google Video,etc) and convert it using two methods to iPod format files. It is pretty simple once you get the hang of it.
1. Using free video converter for mac.
The First Method is using free video converter software. For this you need the following:
A Mac computer. (Tiger or leopard) and a video to download.
Free PSP Converter for Mac (only free this month).
Step 1: Download the FLV.
Now you need to download the .FLV flash video file. There are many ways of doing this but I lovewenc used this one. It works well.
Find Your Favorite Video. This step is pretty self explanatory. Be sure to use Safari and search for your favorite YouTube Video. It's as easy as that!
Next, you need to go to Window and down to Activity. Click on Activity to bring up the next dialog box.
Once the dialog box has popped up you need to look for the YouTube page among all the page titles and files listed in the window.
Once you locate it and expand all the activities going on in the page, look for the largest file size (this is shown in the right hand corner).
Most of the files found in a YouTube page are small files while most FLV files are several megabytes.
Once you locate the largest file, double click on it. This should cause another window to open and a download to ensue after that called "get_video".
Now that the FLV file is downloading to the desktop, we have to wait.
Step 2: Converting The Video
Great, now you have located the file and downloaded it to the desktop. What's next? Well, you need to open up your freshly installed iSkysoft iPod Movie Converter for Mac.
Click the "Add Files" button to add the youtube video files to the program by automatically selecting an appropriate encoder for the video files you want to convert to. Select the output format and then click “convert”.
This process only lasts a few minutes at the most.
You can convert several videos and join them into one files just check “merge into one file” option.
The output file (mp4) is compatible with iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, PSP and many other digital video and audio players.

Capcom Releases Lifetime Sales Numbers
May 23, 2008 - As part of Capcom's recent financial results, the company let loose its to-date sales numbers for all of its million-selling franchises and individual titles, dating back over the past 22 years. The Resident Evil series has done the company best with more than 34 million units sold, trumping both Mega Man and Street Fighter (second and third on the list, respectively).

New PSP Bundle Announced
May 21, 2008 - It was announced today, both on the official PlayStation Blog and through a press release, that SCEA will be releasing the Madden NFL 09 PSP Entertainment Pack this August. The bundle will include a brand new metallic blue PSP, a copy of Madden NFL 09, the UMD Video NFL: In Just One Play, a voucher for the PSN title Beats and a 1 GB memory stick. The bundle will hit retailers for $199.99.
This will be the only time the metallic blue PSP will be available in North America. Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Product Marketing at SCEA, commented: "Sports games are one of the most popular types of games among PSP owners, and it was only natural to make our next PSP Entertainment Pack a sports-themed bundle. PSP continues to have great momentum in the marketplace.
