Are you using a Phat or Slim?
It won't work on a slim as the slim has no IR built into it, they removed it from the slim.
If you have the slim, you cannot use infrared, as it is not in the slim.
If you are using the Phat and if you're using the latest version of irshell you have to extract sircs.prx from the 3.52 Firmware and place it in ms0:\IRSHELL\SYSTEM
You can extract it using M33 PSAR DUMPER.
