Hi.

This little guide explains how to customise your EBOOT.PBP files that you've created with Popstation for the 3.02 OE-B Custom Firmware.

What you need:

- Your PSP must have the 3.02 OE-B Custom Firmware installed in order to play homemade PS1 EBOOT.PBP files.

- Popstation (which comes with the OE-B Firmware).

- The game "Hot Shots Golf 2" for PSP (grab it from ps3store or other places).

- The file "cygwin1.dll" for Popstation (look on Google for this).

- A Hex Editior (I personally use UltraEdit32)

How to do it:

- Create your EBOOT.PBP file with Popstation using the directions included with that program.

- Open the EBOOT.PBP file with your favourite Hex Editor.

- Search for the Hex string below and this will show you where you can change the name of the gamesave as well as the name of the game. Make sure to fill in any blank characters at the end with 00's in Hex.

Hex String "Hot Shots Golf®2": 486F742053686F747320476F6C66C2AE32

- Searching for the Hex strings below will show you where the locations are that you can change in order to make sure that you have a unique gamesave location on your PSP.

Hex String #1 "SCUS94476": 534355533934343736
Hex String #2 "_SCUS_94476": 5F534355535F3934343736

Take note of the PS1 Games List file that is included, and do a search for your desired game. Make sure you edit these 2 strings accordingly.

- Save your EBOOT.PBP file. You can also replace the documents.dat with a blank file, just make a new text file and rename it t.o documents.dat

Since I posted this, there has been a couple of different GUIs made for it.

Here's the best I've found so far:

I've been using a different GUI, does this one support the compression that is available in FW3.03 OE-A and up?

The one I've been using is PSX2PSP v7.1. Is this one better or about the same? PSX2PSP supports the compression as well as haveing a PAL to NTSC converter built in. although I havn't tried it as I don't have any PAL games. Oh yea you can also take the eboot and turn it back into an ISO with it.
