Introduction
This tutorial will explain in detail about WLAN switches and how they can be used with your PSP for online gaming, surfing and other online activities.
What is the WLAN switch?
The WLAN switch allows you to send and receive signals. You can use the internet with this which may be slower than using the computer but in the end, when you don't have a computer with you, it is worth it.
Setting up the net.
When you want to set up and use the net on your PSP you will need someone with wireless Internet around you so you can receive their signal and connect to the net.
When you are setting up the net you will need to go to settings on your PSP. Go right to the bottom of the list to Network Settings and go into that. It will then say "Ad Hoc Mode" and "Infrastructure Mode". Go to Infrastructure Mode and then new connection. It then will say Scan and Enter Manually. When you go to hit Scan you must make sure the WLAN switch is on always an error will come up saying "A connection error has occured. The WLAN switch is not turned on". After it has finished scanning it will either say "No access points were detected. Do you want to try again?" or it will come up with a few names.
If it says that there were no access points then try aiming the PSP in a different angle and scanning again. Otherwise when the names come up pick one with no security and go into it. Go down to Enter Manually and press the right arrow. Don't worry about the SSID if it already has something in it or not just skip that bit and hit the right arrow again. The security setting should then come up. Make sure it is on None and hit the right arrow again. The address Setting will come up and two options will come up. Easy and Custom. Go to easy and hit the right arrow button again. Don't worry about the connection name just hit the right arrow again, it would be easier to keep the name the way it is. Finally you are at the end of setting it up. when you reach the Settings list hit the "x" button. It then should save the settings.
After the settings have been saved hit home until you get the normal PSP screen if you know what I mean. After that is all done you will need to go to the far right into Network. You then will need to go into Internet Browser. It will come up with an address bar up the top and a few icons down the bottom. Above the icons it will say file which means you are on the first icon in the list. You will have to hit the x button. It will have a few options. You will have to go into Address Entry. When you have finished typing in your address you will have to go up the top and hit Enter. It may take two times but it will work. It will either connect to a wireless connection itself or it will ask you which wireless connection you want to connect to. If it asks you pick the one you want and hit the x button. After it has connected to the net the address bar and icons should still be up. If not dont worry about it. If it is you will have to hit triangle for it to go away and for you to use the mouse.
The mouse is operated by the joystick. If you want to go down the page you will have to hold square in and move the joystick down the page. To click on a button on the page all you have to do is place the arrow on top of it and press the x button.
If you want to go to a different hit triangle and it should bring up the icons and the address bar again.
And there you have it, the basics to the Internet!!!
